Bicep are Belfast-born, London-based duo Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar. Meeting as teenagers and bonded by a mutual love for discovering and sharing music across genres, they started their journey in electronic music running the influential blog “FeelMyBicep.” This blog became a beacon in the online dance music community, curating rare disco, house, techno, and Italo gems.
In 2010, the pair transitioned from tastemakers to creators, releasing their first tracks and quickly gaining traction with their fresh, melodic take on house music. Their early releases on labels like Throne of Blood, Aus Music, and their own Feel My Bicep imprint showcased a sound steeped in classic analog sensibilities yet driven by a forward-thinking approach. Bicep’s breakthrough came with the 2017 release of their self-titled debut album on Ninja Tune, featuring anthems such as “Glue” that became festival mainstays and won critical acclaim for their emotive yet club-focused style.
Their sophomore record, “Isles” (2021), further expanded their palette, incorporating UK rave, breakbeat, and world influences, and debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart. Renowned for their immersive live shows, Bicep brought their music to life with cutting-edge audiovisual productions at leading venues and festivals worldwide, solidifying their reputation as one of the most innovative acts in contemporary electronic music. Both as DJs and live performers, Bicep continue to shape modern dance music through their meticulously crafted productions and boundless energy on stage.
