Caterina Barbieri is an Italian composer and electronic music producer recognized for her innovative use of modular synthesis and minimalist compositional techniques. Born in Bologna, Italy, Barbieri studied electroacoustic composition at the Conservatory of Bologna and later focused her academic research on the psychoacoustic effects of repetitive patterns. Since emerging in the mid-2010s, she has become a leading figure in contemporary electronic music, with releases on labels such as Important Records, Editions Mego, and her own imprint, light-years.

Her critically acclaimed albums, including "Patterns of Consciousness" (2017), "Born Again in the Voltage" (2018), and "Ecstatic Computation" (2019), showcase her unique fusion of hypnotic sequencing, intricate melodic development, and immersive sonic environments.
