Charlotte de Witte was born on July 21, 1992, in Ghent, Belgium. She began her career in nightlife and electronic music as a teenager, quickly earning a reputation in Belgium’s club scene through her energetic DJ sets and passion for techno. Originally performing under the alias Raving George, she gained international recognition after winning a Studio Brussel DJ contest in 2011, which opened doors for festival performances and larger audiences.
In 2015, she dropped her alias to embrace her real name, shifting her sound towards harder, darker techno. Her debut EPs, such as *Weltschmerz* and *Sehnsucht*, were met with critical acclaim, setting the foundation for her unique, uncompromising style characterized by deep, pounding rhythms and hypnotic builds. Charlotte’s relentless touring schedule and residencies at leading techno clubs cemented her status as one of the most influential figures in contemporary electronic music.
In 2019, she launched her own label, KNTXT, further supporting emerging talent and providing a platform for her artistic vision. Charlotte has performed at major festivals including Tomorrowland, Awakenings, and Sonar, and her productions have been released on prominent labels like Turbo Recordings and Drumcode. Her trailblazing achievements have made her a role model in a traditionally male-dominated industry and earned her accolades such as being the first woman to close Tomorrowland’s main stage solo.
Dedicated to pushing the boundaries of techno, Charlotte de Witte continues to evolve her sound, inspiring a new generation of ravers and producers around the world.
