Karenn

Karenn is a collaborative techno project formed by UK producers Blawan (Jamie Roberts) and Pariah (Arthur Cayzer). Emerging in 2011, the duo quickly garnered acclaim for their uncompromising approach to hardware-driven, live techno. Rooted in the UK’s rich tradition of electronic innovation, Karenn's sound is marked by relentless rhythms, raw textures, and improvisational energy, often constructed through live jam sessions using analog equipment.

Their early EPs, notably on their own label Voam and the respected Works The Long Nights imprint, captured the underground’s attention with their pounding, industrial-inflected beats. Karenn’s reputation for visceral live performances solidified their standing within Europe’s club and festival circuit, making them favorites at venues like Berghain and events such as Dekmantel and Unsound. Their 2019 debut album, *Grapefruit Regret*, showcased a matured sound, balancing menacing intensity with intricate sound design.

As individual artists, Blawan and Pariah have established distinct solo legacies, but together as Karenn, they continue to push the boundaries of live techno, exploring new sonic territories and maintaining their status as pioneers in the contemporary electronic music scene.
