Manchester-based DJ and producer salute (real name Felix Nyajo) has steadily carved out a unique space within electronic music, recognized for melodic, emotive productions that blur the boundaries between house, garage, and pop. Growing up in Vienna, Austria, with Ghanaian roots, salute developed a global perspective on music from an early age, drawing inspiration from 2000s UK club culture and American R&B. Moving to the UK at 18 to pursue music, salute gained attention through the Colors EP series and the acclaimed debut album “Condition” (2016).
Famed for tracks like “Therapy” and “Joy,” salute’s sound is characterized by lush synths, shuffling percussion, and warm basslines—uplifting and inviting dancefloors into a world of euphoric grooves and soulful hooks. A regular on the festival and club circuit, salute has performed at high-profile events such as Boiler Room, Glastonbury, and Printworks, and has shared stages with artists including Sherelle, Anz, and Ross From Friends. Their productions are frequently championed by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Pete Tong, and they are a sought-after remixer, lending their touch to tracks by Little Dragon, Disclosure, and Mura Masa.
Now based in Manchester, salute continues to push boundaries with releases on independent labels and their own imprint, uniting communities through energetic DJ sets and productions deeply rooted in joy, inclusivity, and the diverse history of dance music.
