Kieran Whitefield, known by his stage name Ansome, is a prominent London-based DJ, producer, and modular synth enthusiast recognized for his intense and raw approach to techno. Growing up in the UK’s industrial landscapes, Ansome drew heavy inspiration from his surroundings, channeling gritty, mechanical sounds into his music. His early passion for hardware equipment led him to adopt modular synths and drum machines as central tools in his creative process.
Ansome’s career gained momentum with early releases on labels such as Mord, South London Analogue Material (SLAM—a label he co-founded), and Perc Trax. He quickly established a reputation for explosive live performances, where his hands-on hardware manipulation brought visceral energy to dancefloors across Europe. His debut album, “Stowaway” (2016), released on Perc Trax, showcased his signature industrial techno sound and garnered widespread acclaim within the techno community.
Through his ongoing exploration of hardware-driven production and live improvisation, Ansome continues to push the boundaries of contemporary techno. He remains a sought-after figure at underground clubs and festivals, championing hard-edged, uncompromising sonic aesthetics that embody the raw spirit of UK techno.
