Born Andre Williams in London, Shy FX is a pioneering figure in the UK drum and bass and jungle scenes. His career began in the early 1990s, rising to prominence with the release of the seminal single “Original Nuttah” in 1994, a track that remains a classic and helped to define the jungle sound. Throughout the late 1990s and 2000s, he continued to shape electronic music as both a producer and DJ, releasing influential tracks such as “Bambaata” and “Shake Ur Body” (with T Power and Di), which broke into the UK Top 40 and introduced a new generation to drum and bass.

Shy FX is renowned for his innovative production style, which blends elements of reggae, hip hop, dub, and R&B into the fabric of jungle and drum and bass, contributing to the genre’s evolution and mainstream appeal.
