Born in London, Fabio began his career in the mid-1980s, rising to prominence as a pirate radio DJ and later a resident at the legendary Rage club night at Heaven, which became ground zero for jungle and drum & bass music. Alongside his long-time collaborator Grooverider, Fabio helped shape and popularize the scene, known for blending soulful, melodic elements with bass-heavy rhythms—a style eventually dubbed “liquid funk.” As a producer and label owner (Creative Source), his forward-thinking selections and ear for new talent propelled countless artists into the limelight.

Fabio’s decades-spanning BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM shows educated generations of listeners and cemented his status as a foundational figure in UK dance music. Continuing to tour globally and mentor emerging DJs, Fabio’s influence resonates across electronic music, credited with both pioneering new sounds and cultivating a lasting community spirit within drum & bass culture.
