Grooverider, born Raymond Bingham in London, United Kingdom, is a pioneering DJ, producer, and radio presenter who played a seminal role in the development of drum and bass music. Emerging from the vibrant London rave scene in the late 1980s, he began his career spinning rare groove and acid house before helping to shape the harder, breakbeat-driven sounds that would evolve into jungle and drum and bass. Alongside his long-time collaborator Fabio, Grooverider became synonymous with the legendary club night "Rage" at Heaven, a foundational event in the history of UK dance music.

His uncompromising DJ sets and influential radio shows on Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1 introduced the wider world to the cutting-edge sounds bubbling from the UK underground. As a producer, Grooverider released innovative solo work and the classic 1998 album "Mysteries of Funk" under his own name, as well as groundbreaking tracks on his influential Prototype Recordings label, which launched the careers of countless genre-defining artists. Renowned for his dark, futuristic style and relentless championing of new talent, Grooverider remains a revered figure and enduring force in the global drum and bass scene.
