Born in Walsall, England in 1965, Goldie emerged from the UK’s underground music scene in the early 1990s, gaining acclaim for his technical prowess and innovative sound. He played a crucial role in popularizing jungle and drum and bass music, both in Britain and internationally.

Goldie’s early exposure to hip-hop and breakdance culture led him to become an influential figure in graffiti art, contributing to the 1980s UK urban art movement. In the early 1990s, he shifted his focus to music, releasing tracks with influences ranging from breakbeat and reggae to jazz and soul.
